The inPERU delegation set off for Madrid to continue with new presentations and business meetings.

With a positive balance and renewed interest from international investors, the first leg of the XVIII Europe Roadshow 2025 concluded in London, United Kingdom. Over two days, more than 80 representatives from the public and private sectors highlighted the country’s macroeconomic strength and investment potential in strategic sectors such as mining, energy, and infrastructure.

The Roadshow featured a packed agenda that included presentations, business roundtables, and one-on-one meetings with representatives of British companies and funds.

On the first day, a Sustainable Finance event was held, where the Deputy Minister of Economy, Erick Lahura, the Chairman of the Board of COFIDE, Jorge Velarde, and the Corporate Head of Client Relations at nuam, Miguel Ángel Zapatero, spoke about Peru’s experience in this area and the growing market opportunities for this type of investment in the country.

In parallel, the Minister of Energy and Mines, Jorge Luis Montero, held multiple meetings with representatives of investment funds and major mining, oil, and energy companies, perceiving strong interest in exploring projects in Peru.

“There is confidence that the government supports the execution of new initiatives and that, beyond the procedures, business decisions will set the pace. All of this confirms that Peru remains an attractive destination for long-term capital,” he stated.

Jorge Montero emphasized that Peru offers a combination that is hard to match: diverse geology and significant potential alongside a solid macroeconomy that provides security and long-term predictability. “Our concession framework in mining, electricity, and oil remains a cornerstone of investment, reinforcing confidence in the stability of the rules of the game,” he added.

The centerpiece of the London visit was the seminar “Invest in Peru,” which brought together authorities, business leaders, and investors in a space for strategic dialogue.

Following the opening remarks by the Ambassador of Peru to the United Kingdom, Ignacio Higueras, the Minister of Economy and Finance, Raúl Pérez-Reyes, stated that “Peru offers favorable conditions for investment: fiscal stability, clear rules, and institutions committed to development. We seek to attract European capital toward productive sectors that generate employment, innovation, and well-being for the country.”

During his presentation, the MEF Minister presented the investment portfolio of more than US$20 billion, comprising more than 80 Public-Private Partnership (PPP) projects and asset-based projects planned for 2025–2026.

“These investments cover strategic areas such as transport, health, education, energy, sanitation, and urban infrastructure, consolidating Peru as a reliable and competitive destination for foreign capital,” Pérez-Reyes emphasized.

Subsequently, the Executive Director of ProInversión, Tabata Vivanco, delivered the presentation “Investment Opportunities,” highlighting, in addition to the projects mentioned by the Minister, that Peru has a portfolio exceeding 13.6 billion soles that can be financed through the Works for Taxes mechanism.

The agenda also included panels that enriched the discussion on Peru’s economic landscape. In the first panel, representatives from Currie & Brown, Gleeds, and ARUP shared their investment experience in Peru. Next, Sofía García, Deputy Director of Trade and Head of Infrastructure at the British Embassy in Peru, moderated the roundtable “Transforming Peru’s Infrastructure,” with the participation of Oscar Caipo (MACE) and Javier Rodríguez (AECOM).

The third panel, “Business Outlook on the Current Investment Landscape in Peru,” was moderated by Jeremy Browne, CEO of Canning House, and featured three prominent Peruvian leaders: Roque Benavides (Buenaventura), Mariela García (Ferreycorp), and Carlos Tori (Interbank).

During the closing remarks, inPERU President Mercedes Aráoz highlighted that over the past three decades, Peru has consolidated its macroeconomic strength, backed by solid institutions, an active trade policy, an autonomous Central Bank, and an innovative private sector.

She noted that, in a challenging global context, the country combines strong fundamentals and trade openness with a development vision based on equity and sustainability.

With this message, the London leg concluded, leaving behind an atmosphere of confidence and optimism regarding the country’s economic future. The inPERU delegation immediately departed for Madrid, where the agenda for September 10 and 11 would continue. The Spanish leg was joined by the Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism, Desilú León, and the President of the Central Reserve Bank, Julio Velarde, reinforcing Peru’s official representation.
