Raúl Pérez Reyes, head of the MEF, highlighted investment opportunities in sectors such as mining, infrastructure, health, energy, and sanitation to British business leaders and investors.

The Minister of Economy and Finance, Raúl Pérez Reyes, today highlighted the advantages Peru offers as an investment destination in London, as part of the second day of the XVIII Europe Roadshow 2025.

During the seminar “Invest in Peru,” he emphasized that the country combines macroeconomic stability, trade openness, developing infrastructure, and abundant natural resources, making it one of the most attractive markets in the region.

“Our country is one of the most reliable investment destinations in Latin America. We are working to promote a significant group of investments: 18 electricity transmission lines, transport projects worth nearly US$8 billion, and the renovation of eight regional airports, including the operation of the Chinchero International Airport in Cusco, a region that receives more than 7 million passengers a year,” he said during his presentation “Peru: Economic Outlook and Investment Opportunities.”

He also noted that the Government is advancing sanitation and water management projects, such as wastewater treatment plants in Chincha (already awarded), Cajamarca, and Puerto Maldonado. In the mining sector, the Minister reported that two major projects worth approximately US$4.5 billion are under evaluation and could be announced by late this year or early next.

“In total, we manage a portfolio exceeding US$60 billion, which seeks to consolidate Peru as one of the world’s leading producers of copper and gold. Our goal is to continue developing this potential, especially in copper, where we hold one of the largest reserves internationally,” the MEF Minister emphasized.

On infrastructure, he highlighted strategic projects such as the Port of Chancay, Lima Metro Lines 3 and 4, and 21 major irrigation megaprojects, which will strengthen national and regional competitiveness.

Meetings with British corporations

During the day, Minister Raúl Pérez Reyes met with Anglo American, one of the world’s leading mining companies and the operator of the Quellaveco project in Peru, reviewing new initiatives linked to copper and other minerals. He also met with Mercer, a global leader in consulting and investment, exploring opportunities to strengthen human capital management and the financial environment in the country.

The MEF Minister also met with Sidara, an international design, engineering, and consulting network involved in projects such as Lima Metro Line 1. The company expressed its interest in contributing to sanitation and irrigation projects, in line with the sustainable development agenda being advanced by the Government.
