During the first day of the event, meetings were held with representatives from the leading financial institutions.

This morning, more than 50 business leaders and public- and private-sector authorities from Peru arrived in New York, USA, marking the start of the XVII inPERU Road Show, whose objective is to promote the strengths and advantages of investing in the country.

During the first day of the business roundtable — which will run through Thursday, September 5 — the delegation, led by Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance Carlos González Mendoza and Chief Economist of the Central Reserve Bank of Peru Adrián Armas, participated in the opening cocktail organized by BTG Pactual and held an initial roundtable with major institutional investors based in the world’s leading financial center, presenting the guidelines of the fiscal and monetary policy being applied in Peru.

“We are convinced that these initial meetings will be key to fostering significant business opportunities. The country has strong macroeconomic fundamentals and enormous development potential, as reflected in the fact that we are among the world’s largest producers and holders of mining reserves, with a vast portfolio of connectivity and infrastructure projects, a very powerful agro-industry, and enviable tourism destinations,” said Mercedes Aráoz, leader of the Official inPERU Delegation.

Along the same lines, Juan Carlos Mandujano, Executive Director of inPERU, noted that the country faces very significant development challenges, as there is an infrastructure gap that demands immediate action. “To close that gap and improve competitiveness and urban and rural living standards, private investment is essential — and fortunately, Peru continues to be one of the most attractive markets for foreign investors, whose appetite we see remains fully intact,” he said.

In the days ahead, the delegation will also participate in a series of seminars and conferences with world-class investors, positioning Peru as a stable economy and the best place in Latin America for investment. Representatives from allied institutions will also be part of these meetings, including the Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Export and Tourism (PROMPERU), the Superintendency of the Securities Market (SMV), and the top executives of the Lima Stock Exchange (BVL) and companies such as Credicorp, BTG Pactual, Bank of America, EY, the Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean (CAF), Buenaventura, Grupo Coril, Intercorp, and Credicorp Capital.
